- Confirm the state and approximate facility location when reporting a missing rest stopLocation information used for these functions is processed primarily on your device and through Apple mapping services when a routed distance is requested.Next Rest Stop does not use your location for advertising, behavioral profiling, or tracking your travel history.The app does not create or upload a continuous history of your movements.You can deny or disable location access through your device’s Settings. - Published amenities

- Date the source was checkedOfficial facility data is kept separate from community reports.The app is independently operated and is not affiliated with or operated by any state department of transportation or government agency.Community ReportsTravelers may submit structured reports about conditions at an existing rest stop. These reports may include:- Open or closed observations
- Cleanliness
- Parking conditions
- Temporarily unavailable amenities
- Suggested missing amenities
- Suggested mile markers, highways, or directions
- Reports that official information may be incorrectReports about an existing facility send the facility’s stable identifier and the information selected by the traveler.They do not include a continuous location history.Next Rest Stop does not require written reviews, and the current reporting system is designed around structured selections rather than public user profiles.Missing Rest-Stop SubmissionsA traveler may submit a facility that is not currently listed.A missing-facility submission may include:- State
- Highway or road
- Direction
- Mile marker
- Facility name and type
- Selected amenities
- Latitude and longitude of the proposed facility
- Submission date and review statusFacility coordinates are required so the proposed location can be distinguished from other facilities and reviewed.These coordinates identify the reported rest-stop location. They are not used to create a history of the traveler’s movements.Newly reported facilities are treated as community submissions and do not automatically become official facility information.CloudKit and iCloudNext Rest Stop uses Apple CloudKit’s public database to share community reports between devices.CloudKit may internally associate a submitted record with an Apple iCloud account for security, ownership, and abuse-prevention purposes. Next Rest Stop does not receive your Apple ID, email address, payment details, or iCloud password.Next Rest Stop does not expose CloudKit identity information to other users or use it to create a public profile.If iCloud or CloudKit is unavailable:- Official rest-stop information remains available
- Recently cached community information may remain visible
- A report may be saved locally and retried later
- Community updates may temporarily be unavailableCloudKit data is processed according to Apple’s applicable privacy policies and terms.Report Freshness and RetentionCommunity reports describe temporary conditions and are not treated as permanently current.Different report categories may remain current for different periods. For example:- Parking conditions generally remain current for up to 2 hours
- Cleanliness reports generally remain current for up to 8 hours
- Amenity problems generally remain current for up to 12 hours
- Open or closed observations generally remain current for up to 24 hours
- Suggested permanent corrections may be retained longer for reviewExpired observations stop affecting the current conditions displayed by the app. Records may remain in CloudKit or local storage for a longer period for synchronization, review, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, or maintaining the integrity of the reporting system.Official and Community InformationCommunity reports do not rewrite or delete official source records.When official information and community observations differ, the app may present both so travelers can understand the source of each statement.A single community report is not presented as official verification. Some changes may require corroboration from multiple reports or manual review before they affect permanent information displayed by the app.Information Stored on Your DeviceNext Rest Stop may store the following information locally:- Favorite rest stops
- Saved trip information
- Cached official facility data
- Cached community reports
- Pending community submissions
- App settings
- First-launch and instructional-screen status
- Purchase-flow state needed for StoreKit
- A privacy-preserving local identifier used for local duplicate-report controls where applicableDeleting the app generally removes information stored locally by the app, subject to the normal behavior of iOS backups and Apple services.Community reports already submitted to CloudKit are not necessarily removed when the app is deleted.Optional Support PurchasesNext Rest Stop may offer optional one-time support purchases through Apple’s StoreKit system.These purchases:- Are optional

Next Rest Stop does not receive or store your payment-card number.The app receives transaction information necessary to determine whether the Apple purchase completed, was cancelled, is pending, or failed.Purchases are also subject to Apple’s applicable privacy policies and App Store terms.NotificationsNext Rest Stop may use background notifications associated with CloudKit to learn that shared community information has changed.These notifications are used to refresh relevant app data.
